Covered California Reports Early Quality Ratings

Covered California is Well Ahead of Federal Requirements

Covered California posted quality ratings for health plans sold through the exchange on Tuesday, two years before being required to under federal law, as reported by the Sacramento Bee.

As stated by the Affordable Care Act states are required, by 2016, to provide quality information for every health insurance plan participating in their exchanges.

Peter Lee, Covered California Executive Director, said the new ratings are “preliminary,” adding, “These scores are just the beginning of a robust reporting and evaluation system planned for 2016.”
