Family Health Insurance | Reasons to Purchase

Why do we need family health insurance?

It is very important to have family health insurance. It typically covers preventative care and can protect your family from the unexpected.

Kids Get Sick
Children, especially young ones, are prone to getting sick. They are particularly susceptible when starting daycare and school, and are newly exposed to many other kids and their germs. They need time to build up immunity. Having health insurance makes it easier to see a doctor when your children are sick.

Well-Baby Visits in the First Two Years
In the first two years of life your baby should be spending a lot time at the pediatrician’s office for “well-baby” visits. These appointments are usually covered by family health insurance. The first visit is typically one to two days after leaving the hospital; its purpose is to confirm the baby is eating properly and does not have jaundice. This appointment is also very helpful for new parents as it gives them an opportunity to ask any questions. During the first year, check-ups are recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics at two weeks, two months, four months, six months, nine months and twelve months. In the second year, well-baby visits are suggested at fifteen months, eighteen months and the second birthday.

Healthcare Is Very Expensive
Healthcare can be prohibitively expensive in the United States. If you don’t have health insurance, the costs may be so high you may not be able to afford the bill. The inability to pay for medical care is one of the top reasons people declare bankruptcy. By not having health insurance, you are putting your family’s financial future in jeopardy.

Health insurance is very important for every family. Parents should not have to worry about taking their children to the doctor. Family health insurance can assist babies in getting off to the right start since it typically covers multiple well-baby visits during the first two years. It can also help a family avoid exorbitant hospital bills.
