How Are Obamacare Enrollees Using Their Coverage?

How Are Obamacare Enrollees Using Their Coverage? | JT Insurance ServicesWith Obamacare in full swing and coverage taking effect, many have raised questions regarding how this new coverage is being used. Though the Affordable Care Act has expanded healthcare access to a larger number of Americans, it does not yet seem that the healthcare system is burdened by this increase. Reasons for little change in demand thus far may be attributed to healthy enrollees, a wait time for enrollees in getting appointments, or a low number of enrollees in the first quarter of 2014.

Is Health Exchange Enrollment Under Obamacare Overstated? | JT Insurance Services

Is Health Exchange Enrollment Under Obamacare Overstated?

Estimates report that over 8 million people have enrolled in the health insurance exchange created by Obamacare’s Affordable Care Act. But have the figures been overstated? America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) reports that the figures may be exaggerated due to both changing enrollment and duplicate enrollments. The Affordable Care Act under Obamacare launched in 2010, with enrollment for the first year’s healthcare exchange marketplace beginning on October 1, 2013 and ending on March 31, 2014.

The Future of Obamacare in the November Election | JT Insurance Services

The Future of Obamacare in the November Election

With the November elections only six months away, many are beginning to discuss the future of Obamacare and whether or not it will be repealed. While Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are not particularly popular, with 52% of Americans polled still opposed to the law, many against it would prefer improvement of the current law over a full repeal. Regardless of party line or opinion on the healthcare system, it will be very interesting to track the future of Obamacare and what changes, if any, are made to the current system in place.

Obamacare: The Next Big Benefit Change | JT Insurance Services

Obamacare: The Next Big Benefit Change

Under the Obama administration, another new change has been approved that will go into effect as soon as this month. The new switch to what is called “reference pricing” may slow healthcare spending, while making health insurance even more complex. Employers have the opportunity to cap what they will spend on certain medical costs, leaving employees to pay the extra cost. Will this have a great effect on how Obamacare moves forward in our nation?

Obamacare’s Slow Beginning Begins To Pick Up

The beginning day of Obamacare’s website was obviously a failure.  Several reports of the site crashing and very low enrollment percentages had the country very upset to say the least.  But just how many people actually enrolled on the first day?  A recent report shows that a single person was able to enroll the first day.  Luckily the process has been fixed and is up and running at full speed.  Obamacare’s success is beginning to rise, helping people in search of health care insurance.  Read more about this story here.

America’s Split of Health Care

Recent studies have shown dramatic differences in accessibility for health care among the states of America.  The states with stronger health care systems have far less deaths per year then those who struggle to obtain  help.  The Affordable Health Care Act sought out to help this situation, but with the option to opt out of the Medicaid expansion, several states and their people are being left behind.  Learn more from this study here.

Oregon to Join Federal HealthCare Exchange

The state of Oregon began the year with a mission to bring its residents an easier way to obtain health care.  They created their own statewide website that would potentially help people get Obamacare, health, medical, and all types of insurances, as well as save the state money by managing the patients themselves.  With expectations similar to those of Obamacare, the site had difficulties.  6 months and millions of dollars later, Oregon has decided to join the federal Healthcare.gov site along with the majority of the country.  Read more about this story here.

How to Get Help with Obamacare Insurance

If you thought that health insurance was confusing before, it might seem a little more confusing now that there are certain mandates in place. These mandates mean that all US citizens need to have an appropriate insurance plan by April 15, 2014, or they face tax penalties. This is great news for those who have struggled to get approved for insurance in the past. It can be frustrating news for those who are still confused about what to do. If you don’t understand what to do about Obamacare insurance, then you need to call and ask your questions to an insurance agency and find out what plans are available to you.

Finding Low Cost Medical Insurance

Today there are many people who cannot get health insurance through their employer. Others struggle to pay the premiums or meet the deductibles of their current insurance plans. Is there a way for these families and individuals to find low cost medical insurance?

If the individual is young enough, they may be able to get added to a parent’s health plan. Even married adults with a job can find coverage under their parents’ medical insurance – if they are younger than 26. This may be the cheapest option for young adults and parents may be willing to do this if the young adult pays for their part of the premium.

Of course, many people struggling to find low cost medical insurance do not have the option of receiving insurance coverage through their parents. These individuals might turn to cost comparison tools online. These tools can help the individual to balance their estimated monthly expenses with the amount of services that the insurance will pay. With the current healthcare reform, even individuals with pre-existing conditions can find an affordable medical insurance plan. Ultimately, balancing cost versus medical needs will be the main goal.

There are a few different low cost options available. A health maintenance organization often has limits concerning which doctors and medical facilities can be visited, but provide much lower medical costs than self-pay and other forms of insurance. High deductible plans seem pretty affordable initially, but often have high deductibles that must be met before they kick in. If a low premium is the primary objective, however, this type of insurance plan is a good fit. Many low cost medical insurance plans are preferred provider plans. These plans typically involve many doctors, hospitals, and facilities and provide fast access to preferred medical care providers.

Medical costs, these days, can become very expensive. A simple visit to the doctor, for an uninsured person, can take out a large portion out of the monthly budget. When hospital costs or long term care is involved, then those costs increase very quickly. The coverage of an affordable medical insurance plan is vital. Once an appropriate plan is found, enrollment should be accomplished as quickly as possible.

Types of Health Insurance | Choose the Best

Choosing The Best Types of Health Insurance

Not only are insured individuals protected from life’s unexpected events, they are also viewed as being more responsible. By getting and maintaining insurance coverage, you will also be contacted directly by different insurance companies. Deciding between various types of health insurance may cause you some grief if you are not totally prepared. Understand what role insurance is going to play in your life, then look at products that meet your specifications.

How Health Maintenance Organizations Work

You may only go to the doctor once a year, but imagine how expensive it would be if you did not have medical coverage. The average doctor’s visit costs hundreds of dollars for uninsured individuals. Compare the types of health insurance that you can get with health maintenance organizations to understand how you can benefit. An HMO might not allow you to go to any doctor that you want, but you can always look to see if your preferred doctor is listed.

High Deductible Health Coverage

These are the most affordable health coverage plans available, but they do come with several drawbacks. A high deductible health plan will require you to pay a certain percentage of your medical costs before the remainder will be covered. This means that you might have to pay for minor surgeries and specialist care directly. The main benefit of types of insurance in the high deductible category is lower premiums.

Preferred Providers

Group medical insurance plans often fall into the preferred provider group. Consisting of vast networks of hospitals, medical facilities and doctors, PPOs can be used to get immediate care. All providers listed within your PPO will be within a reasonable range of your home, making it easier for you to setup and attend appointments.

Going to the doctor is important, but having good coverage is crucial. You want to have a way to pay for your medical costs ahead of time because there is no telling how expensive patient care can get. After you have found a type of health insurance that you want, signing up is a snap.
